P-51D Mustang

What comes to mind when you hear the word dogfight? A couple of neighborhood pooches scuffling over a bone? Maybe, but most of us probably think of epic war battles between fighter pilots and the powerful war birds they flew. None more than the P-51 mustang.
Dominating the skies over Europe in WWII, the P-51 achieved an 11:1 kill ratio with 4950 enemy planes shot down. With a top speed of 440 mph the Mustang was the nemesis of the Luftwaffe. It's said that when Hermann Goering learned that long-range P-51Ds were beginning to escort Eighth Air Force B-17s on bombing runs over Berlin in 1944, he told his staff, "The war is over."

Plane Bricks master Lego builder Jonah Padberg adds another top war bird to the Plane bricks fleet with the P-51D Mustang!

Awesome design, few minor bugs

The overall design is amazingly good.

The build is fairly simple, but I ran into a few issues where I have to change things to proceed.

The wing tops also only attach with a 1x2 on each side so they are constantly falling off..
Be prepared to use glue there if you intend to keep this model permanently assembled.

Another issue I found was one assembly appeared to call for 3-1x2s on each side of another piece. That whole assembly was supposed to be inserted into the cockpit area, bit wouldn't fit until i removed 1 of those 1x2s on each side.

Aside from those 2 things this build is awesome and everyone who has seen it thinks the same thing.

Great instructions! Easy to follow and wonderful design!

I was sent the instructions file very quickly and the ordering process went smoothly as well. The instructions were very comprehensive and I built it in Stud.io first without any issues, since I was too excited to wait for parts. The design itself is brilliant, definitely would recommend.
